Florence, the Consul and Me is the story of my quest looking for Gerhard Wolf, the German Consul and trusty representative of Hitler in Florence from 1940 to 1944. It is the investigation of the reasons that led a Consul of the Third Reich to act against orders and risk his own life to save people from torture, deportation and death. It is the tale of a man, his love for the beauty that my town represents, and his deep respect for life and mankind.

Many years ago Rudy left his wealthy life in Italy, choosing to live in Bangladesh and help homeless children. Sometime later Alex joined him and decided to build schools where poor children could receive education and healthcare. In a country where even drinkable water is not a right, everyday Alex and Rudy challenge poverty, corruption and violence with care and love. This is a story about how every man can change his life, trying to change the world. The whole world, one step at a time.
